A “project” is any task that has defined start and finish points. The principles of Project Management can be applied to any such task – whether or not it is called a Project.
A successful Project Manager is one who knows both what has to be done and how to do it. This course provides participants with “how to” ideas and methods for organising, planning, scheduling, monitoring and controlling projects.
This course is highly suitable for anyone who is trying to make a sequence of activities happen within a limited timescale and budget. It is equally appropriate to a development engineer, logistics specialist, marketing manager, facilities manager or production manager. The techniques developed can be applied more or less formally to a very wide range of problems at work – and at home.
The course has a balance of theory, discussion and group work on case studies. Where appropriate the course can be extended to provide exposure to specific procedures or computer-based tools used by the organisation.
